Mardek RPG
Mardek RPG gives us that retro NES look while exploring, and a newer polished look in battle. The storyline is decent with lots of humour at the cut scenes. The battle system is turn-based and is quite fun. There are lots of upgrades to your magic, weapons and items. There are many chapters of this game out now, so if you haven't played them before I suggest you start with the first.
GROW (Series)
The Grow Series is one of the most innovative collections of games to hit the web. Depending on your choices of items, the on screen animations may or may not reach your goals. These games are a mix of Puzzle, Strategy and Adventure. If you have not done so already I highly recommend checking them out.
Monster Arena
A Pokemon type game in which you train your Monsters and enter them into battle. However this game is much more than a copycat of Pokemon. Your Monster will preform differently depending on how you treat him.You need to play with your monster and give him praise to make him happy or tease him and make him angry. He will evolve and battle differently in each case.
There are lots of mini games included while you are training your Monster. The battle system is exciting, your power bar constantly grows, you can wait till it fills to preform huge attacks or perform lots of quicker less powerful attacks. Be careful though, wait too long and you may be killed off before you get a chance to attack. If you haven't played this game yet, it is worth checking it out.
RAZE
A 2d Halo type game. Take your player through many levels to defeat the Aliens. There are loads of pick ups including the usual all powerful rocket-launcher! Choose to play either as the Humans of Aliens in Campaign mode. An excellent on line shooter, It's only downfall is lack of multi-player.
Super Mario Crossover
The original Super Mario Brothers just got better. Play as your favourite characters from all the classic games. Link, Ryu, Mega Man and more.
Each character can use their special abilities from their original games to navigate Mario's world. Just watch as Bill from Contra tears up the Screen with his guns.
There are loads of cheats to unlock as you progress, the first being infinite time cheat, which really helps on World 8!
This game gives an old classic some new life, which is one of the reasons I choose it as my top game this year!
